[RANDOM] Frosty the Snowman... without the snow!!!

[RANDOM]
Il pupazzo di neve...
senza la neve!!!

Ciao a tutti!!!

Hi everybody!!!
Todayas google reminds us, it should be the first day of Winter... and which better day to propose to you these simple and very funny DIY which represent not only the Xmas one but also the winter character par excellence?
As we were saying (here)... there is no limit, in my opinion, to garden decorations when it comes to make children happy... and, in these festive days, in which, we know, they easily cross themselves... why do not keep them busy proposing to them a funny activity to do together to create your own personal Frosty the Snowman... even without the snow???
I leave you some inspirational image:

Buona serata!!!!

Tomorrow I had forecast the return of the column "FilmsInMovies" Xmas Edition with a movie which all of us love very much... but, because of family tasks, I don't know if I will make it in time.... if I won't I will move the pubblication on tuesday!!!
Good evening!!!

[RANDOM] DIY Light Ball

[RANDOM] La sfera luminosa DIY

Image via Pinterest - Source

Buongiorno amici,

Good morning friends,
today a very fast "random" to show you a very simple idea which, according to me, very nice to create by yourselves a fantastic lighted sphere to be hung or, why not, put laying against a vase!!

PRIMA - BEFORE
Image via Pinterest - Source

DOPO - AFTER
Image via Pinterest - Source

Buona giornata!!!!

As you can see from the pics, taken from Pinterest, it is very easy to be made…… you just have to take two hanging flowers pots, the one like a half sphere, join them (may be with some tape) and then cover them with Xmas lights (which you could fix better covering with some twine). I think the idea is really the best…..and if I will have time, i'll try to realize it in the next few days to really improve my magic little porch a bit more.
I leave you with some images and a last piece of advice…. should you feel like painting them with silver color the luminosity will be enhanced increasing even more the magic of its effect!
Have a nice day!!!!

[OurHOME] It's beginning to look (a lot) like Christmas...

[OurHOME]
"It's beginning to look (a lot)
like Christmas..."

Buon pomeriggio!!!!
¯¯¯
Good afternoon!!!
Today it is the 8th day of December…and, according to our traditions, we should be preparing the tree!!!
This year, though, I got ready earlier……I started to decorate the Nest already since the first Advent week-end and so today I could already show you something!!

¯¯¯
This year I don't intend to transform the Nest into a branch of Santa's house (but I haven't made up my mind completely yet)…….on the other hand I have decided to enjoy this period of suspense wait attitude (which in this period of my life I appreciate even more than Xmas itself)…. by decorating the house little by little…
Every day a decoration…… all of them in the various shades of white and ivory…….. slowly… without anxiety…enjoying fully these moments….. with Xmas songs in the background and the tea water boiling in the kitchen or a pie in the oven…..

¯¯¯
So as of today …. we have decorated a bit the living room…. where you can see already the little tree ( our usual little and funny one which we have to move in a safe place every evening for protection against the pe(s)ts)…. my beloved line of white lighted up trees from Ikea, which, this year, found its proper place over the sofa (for the same reason of being protected from "attacks") and a table-centre composed, very simply, by our old wreath of Ikea's pots handling tools, a white candle and some little branches and sticks……. and, again the same sticks to compose a sort of wreath under the chandelier……

¯¯¯
…and then another Xmas corner on the little piece of furniture in the entrance….. still to be completed…… where we could place our chandelier of the Advent DIY ( and today we lighted up the second candle)….. a couple of little Xmas trees from the ones we already prepared….. a few other things and, above all, our socks hanging from the above shelf (since we do not have a mantlepiece…)…the one for Ciccio, mine…… and those for our two little ones…. which in this case…. have been decorated accordingly (and, as you can notice, they were really happy ;-) )!!!

Come vi dicevo... non è finita qui!!! Qualcosina qua e là ancora troverà posto... e, mentre vi scrivo, Ciccio sta attaccando le lucine fuori!!!!
Buona settimana e... a presto!!!!
¯¯¯
As I was telling you… it doesn't stop here!!!! A few things here and there might still find space…. and, while I am writing to you, Ciccio is hanging the little lights outside!!!
Have a nice week and….see you soon!!!

[DECOR] The Advent Candelabrum

[DECOR]
Il Candelabro dell'Avvento
Image via Pinterest - Credits

Ciao ragazzi!!!
¯¯¯
Hi guys!!!
As everybody knows in the northern countries Winter is particularly dark... unfortunately light runs out for almost 3/4 of the day... and it's for this reason (I think) that lighting is such important in most of their Xmas traditions!!!

Images via Pinterest & Google - Credits. 1. 2. 3. 4.

¯¯¯
One of these, which I particularly appreciate, and which I've decided to "import in the nest" is the "Advent Calendabrum" one!!!
Essentially it's simply a series of four candles, usually arranged in a row or in a circle, often numbered... which mean the Advent four weeks!!!
The first Advent Sunday it's a swedish custom to celebrate grouping together, friends and relatives, tasting typical cakes and drinks, to start decorating houses all together... and it's in this day that they light up (only) the first candle!!!!

Images via Pinterest & Google - Credits: 1. 2. 3. 4.

¯¯¯
So we get to the Xmas daywith all the four candles enlighted, consumed in a different way, in the typical ladder shape... that is the same used for the several electric candelabrum which have entered in recent times this old custom…. and that you'll see at the windows of all swedish houses and offices in this suggestive period of the year!!!
As I was telling you, I loved very much this habit, that I have known and appreciated in these years thanks to several swedish and, more generally, northern european girls which I follow on Instagram... and so, this Christmas I have decided to adopt it...

¯¯¯
Obviously, as you can notice in the images, in the course of time also this tradition, like all the things that could become a DIY, has been amended by a lot of variations on the original theme... and I, even though loving a lot the candle one, diminishing in different ways with the passing of time, had to settle for a more simple one with tea lights, which, carefully put in their little glass containers, made me feel safer …considering the presence in the house of the two pe(s)ts!!!

Buona serata!!!
¯¯¯
And you?
Did you light up your first Advent candle?
I did it on sunday….. but I will show you my Advent candelabrum further on together with my others nest decorations!!!!
Good evening!!!

[TableSETTINGS] Dining in an enchanted wood (Our New Year's Eve table setting)

[TableSETTINGS]
Cenando in un boschetto incantato
(La nostra tavola del Veglione)
Buongiorno a tutti... e buon lunedi!!!

¯¯¯

Hi everybody... and have a good monday!!!
Today I'd like to show you, at last, our New Year's Eve table of last year!!!
As I told you in May, in the post that I have re-proposed to you this friday (with a #FbF), after having esperimented my first winter landscape in a glass bowl... I woul n't have stopped anymore... I would have created thousands of them to crowd up the entire house....
¯¯¯
After all the visits in the various garden centers looking for the tiny house I then used... I bumped into a series of tealights with a little wax house on the top in the white and brown shades which so much inspired me last year (and also this year)... unfortunately for the landscape I had to create in my glass bowl they were too little, bit I adored them!!!!So, contributing my passion for tiny things, thinking over and again, I decided to re-create a landscape in a glass bowl really much smaller... placing it in a red wine glass to use it as a winter table decoration!!!!
Here it is how my first New Year's Eve table setting was born.!!!

¯¯¯

At that point we had only to decide table cloth and crockeries and create a centrepiece!!!!I've chosen a tablecloth taken taken at the Gran Casa's sale and accompanied to my nice cream set of plates from Maisons du Monde!!!
To stand out I've decided to use again my beloved white paper doilies... which, in my crazy fantasy should have recalled the snowflakes at least a bit, big ones for the plates and small for the glasses.!!!
My usual glasses taken with points at Esselunga, neutral steel cutleries quickly taken at Tigros (ours are all coloured), paper napkins from maisons du Monde... which were perfect for colours and for the greeting message (bonheur means happyness)... and the table was done!!!!

¯¯¯

For the centrepiece I've decided to realize another idea which I had in mind from the previous year... I've taken a glass spherical bowl which i already had and I have just filled it up with some battery christmas lights and some fake little branches brown and white (i don't know exactly which kind of plant they reproduce, but I adore them and I have been spreading them in the house for years)..At this point I could stop... the table was perfect... in the shades I love and quite magic... but, in your opinion, could I be satisfied?

¯¯¯

Obviously not... and so... longing, as I told you, for the snow, for magical and enchanted landscapes and so on... I began filling the table with everything could remember me an enchanted little wood... including two fawns (strange enough coming from me who never liked so much the northern countries' habit of placing fake little animals all over the house at Xmas time)... used as placeholders... the male for my hubby and the female for me!!!I know that "less is more".. but I am I am made this way and there is nothing I can do... and I loved very much the landscape I created ... it was, what can I say? therapeutic!!!!
I was eating and in the meanwhile with my fantasy I was a little child in a calm and snowy wood who was playing with fawns and enchanted herself staring at lights!!!!
Buona settimana!!!!
¯¯¯
Unfortunately images are awful... light was not good and my capability marginal!!! I hope, anyway, that you have enjoyed at least a little bit my table setting... (I certainly love it….. and that's why I kept it like that for two days... also because i was feeling too sorry to undo it) and that it could have given you some inspiration for next holidays decorations!!!
We will be back on wednesday with a post which will talk about the beautyful swedish tradition about the Advent Calendabrum!!!
Have a nice week!!!!

"Il *presepe* sotto vetro"

Ciao ragazze,
oggi vorrei mostrarvi
finalmente
cosa ho combinato con il materiale
di cui vi parlavo qui!!!

Mi rendo conto che
siamo del tutto fuori stagione
per un post del genere
(almeno piovesse e facesse freddo come qualche giorno fa...

¯¯¯

Hi girls,
today I'd like to show you
at last
what I've done with the material
of which I was talking here!!!

I am aware of
being completely out f  season
for this kind of post
(if only it could rain or it could be cold like a few days ago...
...but here today it's a wonderful day ;-D)
and I have discovered
not to even have any great pic of the result to show you
but every promise is a debt and so here it is:

Si tratta del mio primo esperimento di
"presepe sotto vetro"!!!

L'idea l'ho presa
fatina dalle mani d'oro,
che credo non abbia bisogno di presentazioni!!!!
(Qui il suo tutorial)

Ovviamente l'ho un po' modificata a mio piacimento...
Io non ho incollato i vari componenti
perchè tanto era per me

¯¯¯

It's my very first experiment of
a Xmas landscape in a glass bowl!!!

I've taken the idea from
the beautiful and talented Sara of Reve Blanc
a fairy with hands of gold.
who I think doesn't need to be introduced
(Here her tutorial)

Obviously I've changed it a bit to my liking...
I haven't glued the various pieces
because it was not a present
and I would have liked to recycle the bowl
once holidays have gone away...

I wanted more snow...
I wanted a little snowy wood and a tiny house...
and, in the end, remembering I had one
which had detached from its pin
(it was a xmas three decoration)
I have added a little snowman...

¯¯¯

What do you think about it?

Unfortunately pics are awful
but I assure you that,
whith just a little effort and a really low budget
the result is very nice!!!!

As I just told you
last year I was really not in a Xmas mood...
... but I wanted something magic...
I had a great wish
of a winter landscape white and calm...
and so I created it!!!!

L'idea mi è piaciuta così tanto
che ho già studiato una variante
ancora più magica per l'anno prossimo
.... e non mi sono fermata qui!!!!

Una volta creato il primo
non mi sarei più voluta fermare....
...e così
ho riciclato l'idea

Buona settimana!!!!

¯¯¯

I loved the idea so much
that i have already studied a variation
for next year
...and I didn't stopped here!!!

Once created the first
I would not stop yet
...and so
I have recycled the idea
also for the New Year's Eve table
but I will talk about this in a future post!!!

Have a nice week!!!
