[DECOR] Un Natale Vintage

Buongiorno a tutti!!!!

Oggi ho pensato di chiudere questa serie di "schede ispirazionali" sul Natale con cui vi ho fatto compagnia in questi giorni... con il Natale che meno mi piace... ma che più mi incanta... quello alla fine più tradizionale, ma ormai lasciato un po' da parte e quindi dal sapore vintage... quello con tutte le palline e le lucine colorate!!!!

Good morning everybody!!! 

Today I've tought to close this Xmas "inspirational boards" series, with which I kept you company in these days... with the Xmas I like the least... but that enchants me the most... the one in the end more traditional, but but nowadays a bit forgotten aside and so with a vintage taste... the one with coloured liths and balls!!!!

Cerco di spiegarmi meglio (anche se nemmeno io capisco molto ciò che provo)... questo tipo di Natale non mi fa impazzire... spesso lo trovo "stridente" e al limite del kitsch... non penso che lo farei mai a casa mia (anche se troco che potrebbe stare benissimo in una casa in stile vintage/brocante magari con qualche variazione, tipo palline vintage colorate, ma lucine bianche o palline vintage monocolore e lucine colorate)... eppure... eppure su di me ha un potere pazzesco... vedo delle lucine colorate e mi incanto... molto più che con quelle bianche che poi preferisco!!!!

I try to explain better (even though I can't explain what I feel not even to myself))... I don't go insane for this kind of Xmas...I often find it clashing and almost kitsch...I don't think I'll ever decorate my home in this way (even though I think it could fit very well in a house in a vintage style maybe with some variations, such as vintage coloured balls with white lights or vintage balls just in one colour   with colored lights)... and yet... and yet it has great power on me... I see some coloured ligts and I get enchanted... a lot more than with the white ones which I prefer!!!

Credo succeda in me una cosa un po' alla "cane di Pavlov"... questo è il Natale di quando ero piccina... e, quando mi capita di imbattermi in un albero o in decorazioni di questo tipo, non riesco a distogliere lo sguardo... mi prende una sorta di struggimento... potrei rimanere lì incantata a fissarlo per ore proprio come mi capitava da bimbina nel salone di mia nonna... e probabilmente è proprio lì che mi trovo in quei momenti!!!!

I think it happens to me a kind of thing similar to Pavolov's dog... this is the Xmas of when I was little... and, when it happens to me to face a tree or this kind of decorations, I can't detach my eyes... I feel a sort of heartache... I could stay there for hours enchanted staring at that just like when I was a little child in my gran-ma living room... and probably it's just there that I am in that moment!!!

Guardo le lucine e le palline colorate e sono nel salone della nonna... che ci faceva trovare il presepe (a cui teneva moltissimo) già pronto, ma aspettava me, mio fratello e mia cugina per fare l'albero.... sono seduta sulle poltrone verdi con un gatto in braccio e le dita indolenzite dalle punture degli aghi... al buio a contemplare rapita le lucine per ore... perchè è così che io facevo... e forse è proprio questo che mi succede... a maggior ragione ora che i nonni non ci sono più... i Natali non sono più quelli di una volta.... e io provo una struggentissima nostalgia!!!!

I stare at colored lights and balls... and I am in the living room og my grand-ma... who made us find a Xmas crib (which she cared a lot about) already done, but waited for me, my brother and my cousin to prepare the tree... I am seated on the green armchair with a cat on my knees and fingers achy because of the pine needles... in the dark staring enraptured for hours at the lights... because it's just this that I did... and maybe it's just this that happens to me... mostly now that my grandparents are not here anymore... Xmases are no longer what they used to be... and i feel a moving nostalgia!!!

Chissà... forse è proprio questo il vero Natale... il Natale della nostra infanzia... 
Chissà... forse se avessi dei bambini... ... sarebbe proprio questo l'albero che farei... almeno una volta...!!!!
E voi che ne pensate???

Who knows... maybe it's just this the real Xmas... our childhood Xmas...
Who knows... maybe if I had childrens ... it would be exactly this one the tree which I would do...at least once...!!!

[DECOR] Un Natale alternativo

Quando pensiamo al Natale, tutti noi, più o meno, saltiamo subito con la mente a paesaggi innevati, camini accesi, mug bollenti, che sanno di zenzero e cannella, tra le mani, e via dicendo.... difficilmente ci appaiono immagini di bianche spiagge e stelle marine (a meno che siamo tra quei fortunati che a Natale partono in ferie per le Maldive)... eppure per metà del globo il Natale cade d'Estate!!!!
Inoltre, indipendentemente dalla stagione, moltissima gente abita comunque vicino al mare...

When we think about Xmas, all of us, more or less, jump to snowy landscapes, smoking chimneys, boling mugs, which scents of ginger and cinnamon in our hands, and so on... only seldom they are images of white beaches and starfishes (unless we are among those lucky people who, at Xmas, go on holiday to Maldive)...  and yet for half of the world Xmas is on Summer!!!!
Further than that, aside from the season, a lot of people live anyway near near the sea....

Io stessa, la maggior parte dei Natali, li ho passati all'Isola d'Elba dai nonni ed uno persino in Africa (quando abitavamo in Liberia)... 
Quindi mi sono detta... perchè non preparare una "scheda ispirazionale" su un Natale (per noi) alternativo... dal sapore coastal???

I too have spent most of my Xmases in the Elba Island by my grandparents and even one in Africa (when we lived in Liberia)...
So I told me... why do not prepare an ispirational board about an alternative (for us) Xmas... with Coastal taste???

Chi mi segue su Instagram già sa che questa Estate (che il mare, purtroppo, non l'ho proprio visto) mi ero impallinata con il restyling della piccola casa che la mia mamma possiede all'Elba... passando pomeriggi interi a pinnare immagini su Pinterest... e, in questi giorni, di grande nostalgia della mia Isola e dei vecchi Natali, mi sono fatta promettere dal marito che, in futuro, almeno uno torneremo a passarlo lì!!!!

People who follow me on Instagram already know that this Summer ((even though I didn't see the sea at all) I got fixed in my mind the idea of restyling of the little house that my mummy has on the Elna Island... spending whole afternoons pinning images on Pinterest.... and, in these days, of great great longing for my island and of the old Xmases spent there, I made my hubby promise me that, in the future, we'll be there again at least once.

Così durante la ricerca per questo post è stato naturale cercare ispirazioni pensando  a come avrei voluto decorare quella casina durante le festività natalizie ed ho selezionato immagini in linea con la palette che ho scelto (vi parlerò della scelta della palette e del restyling che ho in mente in un futuro post)...una palette molto chiara e "californiana"...

So when I was looking for inspirations for this post it was natural to think about how I would decorate that little house during Xmas Holidays and I've picked images images in line with the palette that I've chosen (I'll talk to you about the palette and and the restyling which I want to do in a future post)... a really light and "Californian" palette...

Immagino un albero con palline azzurre (che, tra l'altro già ho, perchè quando abitavo a Pavia la mia casa era sui toni dell'azzurro), stelle marine e conchiglie... e tutto il resto delle decorazioni in tema...
Mi sono veramente divertita a cercare queste immagini e adesso avrei quasi voglia di trovarne anche per un Natale più stile navy col bianco, blu e rosso... o stile Hampton's.... ma non preoccupatevi... per il Natale al mare basta così!!!!

I imagine a tree with light blue balls (that, inter alia I already have, because when I lived in Pavia my home was in light blu shades), starfishes and shells... and all the other decorations of the kind
I really enjoied looking for these images and now I would like to find some for a Xmas also navy style with white, blue and red... or Hampton's style... but don't worry... for the Xmas at the sea it's enough....

Ciao a tutti!!!

Oggi, dopo avervi mostrato un sacco di immagini di decorazioni natalizie per la casa, ho pensato di proporvi anche qualcosa per l'esterno!!!

Premetto che, per me, quando si decora l'esterno un elemento fondamentale. da cui non si può prescindere sono le  lucine... lucine a profusione... sulla ghirlanda che incornicia la porta... sulla corona fuoriporta... su ringhiere e balaustre... dentro a vasi, barattoli e lanterne... dappertutto... e quando uso termini come dappertutto e a profusione... solo chi abita a Legnano e conosceva il giardino della mamma del povero Gianfranco Ferrè... sa che cosa intenda (e a cosa io aspiri) :-D

Today, after having shown you a lot of images about Home Xmas decor, I've thought to propose you something also for the outdoor!!!

I start by saying that, in my opinion,  when we decorate the outdoor a basic element which we can't neglect are Xmas lights... lights in abundance... on the garland which surrounds rhe door... on the outdoor wreath... on railings and balaustrades... inside pots, jars and lanterns... everywhere... and when I use words like everywhere and abundantly... only people who live in Legnano and knew the garden of the mother of the late Gianfranco Ferrè... know what I am talking about and what I'm looking for...

E poi le candele... quest'anno ne ho viste in giro, più o meno dovunque, di finte, a batteria, molto più sicure e durature di quelle normali e a prezzi che si aggirano dai 2€ l'una (quelle che ho preso io da CASA in offerta a metà prezzo e molto realistiche poichè di cera) fino ad arrivare anche ai 40 € (Giardineria...e non riesci quasi a distinguerle da quelle vere).... candele sui davanzali... tra le piante... sulle scale a segnare i gradini... lungo i vialetti d'ingresso...

And then candles... (this year I have seen  fake ones, more or less everywhere, which go with batteries, much  safer and  lasting than the normal ones at prizes which go from "2€ till 40€)... candles on windowsills... among plants... on the ladders... along the path...

In Inverno prevalgono le ore di buio rispetto a quelle diurne e l'illuminazione è l'elemento decorativo più importante... oltre a quello più magico ed affascinante... Io ho cominciato pochi anni fa dai miei portichetti... ogni anno aggiungo un elemento... e la sera non vedo l'ora di tornare a casa per ammirarli tutti illuminati... potrei sfidare il freddo per ore incantata!!!!

In winter we have more dark hours than sunny hours and  artificial lighting is the most important decorative element... as well as the  most magic    and fascinating one... I have started a few years ago with my little porches and every year I add something... in the evening I can't look forward to coming back home to look at them all  lighted up... I could defy cold for hours, enchanted!!!!

Per quanto riguarda le decorazioni, diciamo così, diurne... 
Irrinunciabili, secondo me la corona fuori porta e la ghirlanda che la incornicia!!!
Si possono decorare vasi e davanzali con piante "a tema" o vasconi di palline colorate... ghirlande e fiocconi di juta o in tono con le altre decorazioni... tini riempiti da rami di pino e, perchè no, vassoi con mele, pere e furtti di stagione colorati e caratterisitci (che tanto fuori si conservano bene e poi si mangiano...)... e poi angolini pittoreschi sparsi qua e là...

Concerning the decorations, so called diurnal.......... Unforgettable, according to me, the crown outside the door with the wreath framing it!!!

It's possible decorating vases and windowsills with “thematic” plants and large pans of coloured little balls.....wreaths and big juta bows or some other colours in line with the other decorations...... little vats full of pine branches and, why not, trays with apples, pears, and fruit in season, coloured and characteristical (which, in any case, you can preserve very well outside and then you could eat them....)..... and then picturesque little corners here and there......

Alla maggior parte di questi io ho dovuto rinunciare, causa piccole pesti... ma, per chi può, largo alla fantasia.... con "installazioni" sparse per il giardino e sui balconi... (e, se avete la fortuna di avere anche la neve, saranno ancora più suggestivi...)... in giardino, secondo me, si può osare e divertirsi anche con idee originali e un po' kitsch (senza esagerare troppo)... soprattutto se si hanno dei bambini...

To the majority of these I had to give up because of the two little pe(s)ts... but, for  those who can,  make way to fantasy... with pictoresque corners spread in the garden and on the balconies... (and, if you have the luck to have also the snow, they will be more and more suggestives...)... in the garden, in my opinion, we can hazard and amuse  ourselves even with originals, and a  bit kitch ideas (without exaggerating too much)... most of all if we have children!!! 

Anche per oggi è tutto... spero di avervi dato qualche ispirazione interessante e di avervi strappato dai problemi quotidiani per qualche minuto... ci vediamo domani con un "Random" tratto da "Le due comari" e mercoledi con un "Natale alternativo"!!!!

Also for today that's all... I hope having given you some interesting inspirations and having thrown you away from everyday's problems for a few minutes... let's see again tomorrow with a "random" drawn from "Le due comari" and on wednesday with an "Alternative Xmas"!!!!

No... non ho sbagliato il titolo della famosa canzone Natalizia... 

Il post di oggi, sempre sulla scia delle "schede ispirazionali" che vi ho proposto in questi giorni (grazie a quel pozzo senza fondo di immagini meravigliose che è Pinterest)... vi mostrerà idee per un Natale decorato principalmente da bacche rosse... ed è per questo che mi sono divertita a cambiare nel titolo la parola Merry (che significa gioioso) con la parola Berry (che significa, appunto, bacca)!!!

No, I didn't get wrong the title of the famous Xmas song.,..

The post of today, still on the trail of the "inspirational insets" which I proposed to you in the past few days (thanks to that bottomless well of wonderful pics which is Pinterest)…. will show you ideas for a Xmas mainly decorated with red berries……. and this is the reason why I  had fun changing in the title the word  Merry with the word Berry!!!

Ho pensato che anche le amanti dei tradizionali, e più decisi, colori natalizi 

possono aspirare ad un Natale dal sapore molto semplice e naturale utilizzando questi colori nella versione che madre natura ci ha regalato... basta sostituire il rosso con le bacche... lasciare il bianco solo per le candele... il verde, che ve lo dico a fare, è già presente grazie ad abeti ed agrifogli... e, se voleste smorzare un po' il tutto, con il color avana, che tanto successo ha in questo periodo... beh... pigne, biscotti, bastoncini di cannella e, perchè no, qualche tessuto naturale come la juta o il lino grezzo!!!!

I thought that also the lovers of the more traditional and clear Chrismas colours could desire  a Christmas with very simple and natural touch by using these colors in the way the Nature donated to us ….. it's enough to replace the red with the berries….. leave the white just for the  candles….. the green, I shouldn't even mention it, is already present thanks to the Xmas trees and the hollies….and, should you wish to soften the whole picture with a bit of beige, which is  in fashion everywhere in these days….well…. pinecones, biscuits, cinnamon sticks and, why not, some natural textile like jute or rough linen!!!

Il risultato che se ne ottiene è quello, a mio avviso di un Natale semplice, pulito, festoso, elegante, ma molto molto naturale e sobrio!!!

Che ne dite vi piace? A me moltissimo!!! 

Purtroppo non ho trovato immagini di un albero come lo avrei voluto io... penso che se scegliessi una soluzione del genere io l'albero lo decorerei molto semplicemente con lucine bianche e piccoli gruppetti di bacchette e pignette (magari solo sulle punte)... penso che verrebbe molto carino, semplice e suggestivo!!!!

The result which you obtain, according to me,  is the one of  a simple Xmas, clean, joyous, smart, bur vey natural and sober!!!

Do you like it? I love it very much!!!

Unfortunately I didn't found images about the tree the way I wanted it... I think that if I'd choose this kind of solution I would decorate my tree in a really simple way with white lights and little groups of berries and pinecones (maybe only on the tips)... I think it'd be very nice, simple and suggestive!!!

Per adesso è tutto... ci rivediamo lunedi con un post che parlerà di esterni... perchè Natale non è mica solo in casa, no???

"Un fidanzato per mamma e papà"

Eccoci qua, come promessovi su FB mercoledi, con la seconda puntata della rubrica "Case nei films" che, dato il periodo, sarà dedicata ad una casa tratta da un film natalizio!!!!

Inutile dire quanto sia stato difficile sceglierne una: di films natalizi ce ne sono a bizzeffe (tra "belli belli" e "serie B")... le case in cui sono ambientati sono quasi sempre favolose... e gli americani nelle decorazioni natalizie ci sguazzano!!!

Here we are, as we promised to you on our FB page on wednesday, with the second episode of the column "Houses in movies" that, given the period, will be dedicated to a house taken from a Xmas movie!!!

Useless to say how difficult it was to choose one: there are really a lot of Xmas movies (among "fine fine" and "B series")... the houses in which they are set are almost ever faboulous... and american people are just in their element 

Insomma, per farla breve, la mia scelta è caduta su un film tv riproposto, per l'ennesima volta, proprio in questi giorni: "Un fidanzato per mamma e papà" (TIT. OR. "Holiday in Handcuffs").

Il film non è certo tra i più belli (anzi) ma la casa e l'atmosfera mi hanno fatto sognare e tanto basta!!!

Therefore, to  cut it short, my choice has fallen on a tv movie proposed again, for the umpteenth time, just in these days: "Holiday in Handcuffs".

Tne movie is not one of the best but the house and the atmosphere has made me dreaming... and that's enough!!!

Prima di cominciare a mostrarvi la casa volevo darvi un piccolo cenno sui due attori protagonisti che le "ragazze" della mia età potrebbero avere l'impressione di conoscere... vi dicono niente "Sabrina - Vita da Strega" e "Bayside School" ???

Si, sono proprio loro...ecco dove li avevate già visti!!!!

Ma bando alle ciance... eccovi qui una carrellata della casa... un bellissimo chalet tutto di legno immerso nei boschi innevati...

Before starting to show you the house I would like to give you a little hint on the two  principal actors which the "girls" of my age could have the impression to know…  Does it mean anything to you "Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch" and "Bayside School"???

Yes,  it's just just them…  here it is where you saw them!!!

But, let's stop the chitchat ... here look at a round up of the house... a beautiful all wooden chalet  sunk in snowy woods...

Sarà che quest'anno, più del solito, sogno ad occhi aperti un natale caldo e intimo incorniciato dalla magia della neve e delle luci... ma questa casa mi è piaciuta davvero moltissimo...

It might be because this year, more than usual, I daydream a warm and intimate Xmas surrounded by the magic of  snow and  lights... but I really loved this house...

LA CUCINA - THE KITCHEN

I toni caldi del legno... le solite imposte grandi e quadrettate che mostrano uno scenario magico... l'angolo colazione collocato in un bellissimo bovindo... i colori sobri ma caldi dell'arredamento country... gli angoli relax sparsi un po' dappertutto...

The warm shades of wood... the usual big and squared windows which show a fairy landscape... the breackfast corner set in a beautiful bow-window... the sober but warm colours of the country furnishing... the relax corners spread everywhere...

IL SOGGIORNO - THE LIVING-ROOM

il fatto che al piano terra non ci siano porte e i vani per accedere ai vari ambienti siano come tagliati nei tronchi rotondi utilizzati per costruire i muri... le decorazioni natalizie onnipresenti ma senza esagerazioni....

The fact that at the ground floor there are not doors and that the entrances in the various rooms are just cut directly in the logs that form the walls…. 

the Xmas decorations  everywhere but without exaggerations...

La cura in ogni dettaglio compresi quelli che sembrano casuali.... il piano di sopra mansardato...

Tutto di questa casa mi è piaciuto moltissimo... e non mi dispiacerebbe un giorno poter passare il Natale in un ambiente del genere...dato che mi è capitato di passare Natali in spiaggia (quando abitavamo in Liberia), ma mai purtroppo, Natali innevati!!!!

I loved very much everything about this house... and I would not dislike one day to spend my Xmas in a similar  environment.. given that I happened to spend some Xmases on the beach (when we lived in Liberia), but never, unfortunately, snowy Xmases
