[DECOR] The Advent Candelabrum

[DECOR]
Il Candelabro dell'Avvento

Ciao ragazzi!!!

Hi guys!!!
As everybody knows in the northern countries Winter is particularly dark... unfortunately light runs out for almost 3/4 of the day... and it's for this reason (I think) that lighting is such important in most of their Xmas traditions!!!

One of these, which I particularly appreciate, and which I've decided to "import in the nest" is the "Advent Calendabrum" one!!!
Essentially it's simply a series of four candles, usually arranged in a row or in a circle, often numbered... which mean the Advent four weeks!!!
The first Advent Sunday it's a swedish custom to celebrate grouping together, friends and relatives, tasting typical cakes and drinks, to start decorating houses all together... and it's in this day that they light up (only) the first candle!!!!

So we get to the Xmas daywith all the four candles enlighted, consumed in a different way, in the typical ladder shape... that is the same used for the several electric candelabrum which have entered in recent times this old custom…. and that you'll see at the windows of all swedish houses and offices in this suggestive period of the year!!!
As I was telling you, I loved very much this habit, that I have known and appreciated in these years thanks to several swedish and, more generally, northern european girls which I follow on Instagram... and so, this Christmas I have decided to adopt it...

Obviously, as you can notice in the images, in the course of time also this tradition, like all the things that could become a DIY, has been amended by a lot of variations on the original theme... and I, even though loving a lot the candle one, diminishing in different ways with the passing of time, had to settle for a more simple one with tea lights, which, carefully put in their little glass containers, made me feel safer …considering the presence in the house of the two pe(s)ts!!!

Buona serata!!!

And you?
