"Brunch Autunnale in Ciccilandia
Ep.3-Le decorazioni"
Eccomi qua ragazze, prima del previsto, a parlarvi delle famose decorazioni per il brunch autunnale con le amiche.
Avevo molte idee su come decorare la mia casa in previsione dell'arrivo delle mie amiche... il tema dell'autunno mi ispira moltissimo!!!! Avevo pensato ad una ghirlanda fuori porta... angolini con le zucche... il giardino sistemato (ci sono ancora i fiori estivi oramai inguardabili)... insomma un sacco di cose!!!!

Here we are girls, two days earlier than expected, for talking to you about the famous decorations for my Fall brunch with friends.
I had a lot of ideas on how decorating my home in anticipation of my friends arrival... Fall theme always inspires me very much!!!! I thought to an outdoor wreath... pumpkins corners... garden fixed (there are still summer flowers unwatchable by now)... therefore a lot of things!!!!
Purtroppo non ho avuto tempo nè modo di procurarmi il materiale che mi sarebbe servito...dato che nelle due settimane precedenti mi è successo di tutto di più (il nonno da imboccare quasi tutte le sere all'ospedale di Monza, mio marito a letto con la febbre, io a letto con la febbre, la pioggia incessante....)... così, come al solito, mi sono dovuta arrangiare con ciò che già avevo in casa e ho potuto decorare solo la tavola!!!

Unfortunately I had no time neither way to procure me the needed material... since in the two preceding weeks happened all and some!!!
So, as usual, I had to manage with what I had already at home and I could decorate only the table.
Ho spostato solo leggermente il tavolo dal suo "angolino ufficio" e l'ho allungato.
Per l'occasione ho scelto una tovaglia ricevuta come regalo di nozze da una cara amica della mamma. Mi sembrava perfetta con il suo centro vinaccia, così autunnale, contornato dal rosso che richiama la mia casa e tre righe (purtroppo nella foto non si vedono) a bordare sui toni del beige e del marrone che richiamavano i piatti, alcune decorazioni, il tappeto e vari complementi d'arredo qua e là.

I moved just a bit the table from his "office corner" and I've extended it. For the occasion i have chosen a tablecloth received as a wedding present from a dear friend of my mummy. I thought it was perfect with its red-purple center, so autumnal, surrounded by the red which reminds my home main colour and three stripes (unfortunately they don't appear in the pics) framing on the brown tones which match dishes, some decorations, the carpet and other things.
Ho tirato fuori i piatti piani ed un piatto di portata del mio servizio buono (ricevuto in anticipo come regalo di natale) color crema/beige di Maisons du Monde... e per le altre portate ho utilizzato i sottopiatti di vetro arancione che richiamavano i bicchieri.
Il piatto dorato invece è della Ivy, ma ci stava proprio bene, vero???

I took-out the dinner plates and one platter from my cream coloured "good dishes" (pre-received as Xmas present) bought at Maisons du Monde.... and for the other dishes I've used the orange glass underplates which match the glasses.
The gold plate, instead, it's from Ivy, but it was fitting well, wasn't it?
Con i bicchieri mi sono proprio sbizzarrita!!! Per l'acqua, come dicevo, ho scelto quelli arancioni che usiamo tutti i giorni e mi sono divertita a personalizzarli con della rafia color naturale e piccole lavagnette a mollettina sulle quali ho scritto il nome delle commensali.
Devo dire che l'idea è stata molto apprezzata dalle mie amiche e si è rivelata utilissima per non confondere i bicchieri senza l'ansia del "il mio l'ho messo qui... qual'era il tuo?" che di solito capita nei pranzi a buffet!!!

With the glasses I really amused myself!!! For the water, as I was saying, I've chosen the orange ones and enjoyed customizing them with some natural coloured raphia and little blackboards pins on which I wrote the guests names.
I must say that the idea was really appreciated from my friends and was really useful not to mix up glasses without the stress of "I have placed mine here... which was yours??" which usually happens in the buffets!!!!
Più o meno la stessa cosa ho deciso di farla con i flutes (presi l'anno scorso con i punti dell'Esselunga), ma invece di limitarmi ad un semplice fiocchetto mi sono ingegnata a ricoprire tutto il gambo.
Ci ho messo pochissimo e l'effetto mi piace davvero un bel po'!!!

I've made more or less the same thing with flutes (taken last year with Esselunga's prizes), but instead of placing a simple bow on them I covered the entire stern.
It was very quick and I really love the effect!!!
In questo periodo ho una vera insana passione per lavagnette e tags...così non potevano mancare anche due lavagnette appese al collo delle bottiglie di vetro (una dell'olio ed una Ikea) nelle quali avevo travasato l'acqua... utili per non confondere quella naturale da quella gasata... ed una sul cestinetto nel quale avevo adagiato le posate (lasciamo perdere il disegnino... sono negata!!!!)... perfettamente inutile, ma decorativa!!! ;-)

In this period I have a really insane passion for blackboards and tags... so I hanged also two blackboard tags on the glass bottles (one which was from Ikea and the other one was an oil bottle) in which I had poured water... useful to distinguish natural water from carbonated one.... and another blackboard tag on the little basket in which I eased down cutleries (please don't mind the drawing… I am really bad at it)... perfectly useless but extremely decorative!!!! ;-)
Infine ho riempito il tavolo con una zucca contornata da foglie e bacche autunali, un bel cestino pieno di frutta di stagione, e vasetti di vetro di ogni foggia e dimensione pieni di fiori.
Avrei voluto depredare i cigli delle strade, come d'abitudine, dai miei amati topinambour, bacche e foglie colorate d'autunno... ma la pioggia non me l'ha permesso... così mi sono dovuta adattare con quello che sono riuscita a trovare all'Esselunga... e con dei fiorellini secchi e ricci di castagne che avevo ancora in casa dallo scorso autunno!!!!

In the end I covered the table with a pumpkin surrounded by autumn leaves and berries, a nice basket full of seasonal fruits, and glass jars and pots full of flowers.
I would have liked to plunder the waysides from my beloved jerusalem artichokes, berries and leaves colored by fall... but rain didn't allow me... so I had to manage with what I found at Esselunga and with some little dry flowers and chestnuts husks which I still had at home from last autumn!!!
Infine il tavolino davanti ai divani... liberato dai suoi ammennicoli... ricoperto da tovagliolini di carta di Maisons du Monde... ed allestito da altri fiori e da un'alzatina stracolma di salatini per l'aperitivo!!!!
Questo è tutto!!!
In quelle giornate così uggiose... volevo ricreare un po' l'atmosfera di un brunch campagnolo all'aperto e penso di esserci riuscita....
Purtroppo le foto sono poche e non rendono molto... la luce era quella che era... ed io ero più concentrata a godermi le mie ospiti che a scattare!!!!
Spero comunque che il tutto vi sia piaciuto e di esservi stata magari anche un po' d'ispirazione!!!!

In the end the coffee table in front of the sofas... cleared from all his gadgets and kinkests ... covered by Maisons du Monde paper napkins... and staged with other flowers and a cake stand with savouries for the cocktail!!!
That's all!!!
In those boring and rainy days... I wanted to recreate a little atmosphere of a country outdoor brunch and I hope to have suceeded in it.
Unfortunately pics are few and not really representatives... light was not good... and I was more concentrated to enjoy my friends than to take pictures!!!
I hope however that you enjoyed my efforts and maybe to have given you some inspiration!!!
